Grandmothers Weave

December 3, 2008

Together they sit laughing,
Grandmothers engage in a harmonious dialogue,
Simultaneously,
Thousands of miles away from each other.

7 voices speak:

Cool! At first I was thinking about how I never see my grandma because she lives in Texas, but then when you got to the end I was like, yay! It doesn't matter! :) Of course, I keep thinking of that divine feminine thing you brought up not too long ago... a bunch of goddess grandmas telling stories as they watch over the earth. I'd love to listen to them.

Aw, I hope you get to see your Grandma again! The only Grandmother that is alive on my side lives in Michigan, so I see her often, which is nice!

Check this out you can listen to a bunch of Goddess Grandmotehrs... http://www.grandmotherscouncil.com

Just saw my grandmother this weekend. She is 86!

I thought of the internet for some reason. I also thought about the word "weaving" in that all of our grandmothers have weaved together a lineage of womyn's legacy that connects us over time and space.

Checking out the links you post has become a very nice past time for me! Thanks:)

Sloth Womyn - Wow, she is 86! Yes, the Grandmothers have weaved a legacy. It is so important the work that they have done and continue to do.

I am glad you like all of my links!

Would any of the Detroit-area readers be interested in doing a book club on Grandmothers Counsel the World--maybe in February or March?

More on the book here: http://www.shambhala.com/html/catalog/items/isbn/978-1-59030-293-4.cfm

not a comment but...does anyone know of "hair" storytelling...and for the lack of a better word i am going to use superstitions about hair like if you were to leave your hair lying around someone would pick it up and use something on it and try to hurt you...or what we should be doing when someone goes to the spirit world for instance when the person left behind is mourning...and what about braids what do they signify?...anyone, anything about hair? Meegwetch!!
